God's Plan of Salvation
Man's greatest need is redemption. Man has many "ways" to be saved. The Bible says:
"There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." Proverbs 14:12
One needs a Rock-Solid basis for what he is depending on for salvation. The only thing I can think of like that is the Word of God.
1) Why does man need Redemption? - SIN -
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23
2) What is so bad about sin? - DEATH -
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
3) Everyone dies - So what? - JUDGEMENT -
"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" Hebrews 9:27
4) That won't be so bad, will it? - PUNISHMENT -
"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:15
5) How can one be free of such? - BELIEVE IN JESUS -
"And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:31
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9-13
My friend, the gospel is recorded in I Corinthians 15:1-4.
"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" I Corinthians 15:1-4
It is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, the Lord. He paid the price of your sins.
"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world." I John 2:1-2
He offers eternal life.
"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." John 10:28-29
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
